Navigation Map DVD problems with 2003 S Type R (Denso)

Hi Gang,

I wonder if someone can help me. I have been trying to get an updated Map DVD for our 2003 Jaguar S Type R.

The current DVD is woefully out of date and the newer Jaguar Map DVD displays â€œReading Map DVDâ€¦ Please waitâ€ and goes no further.

Current DVD = DENSO Part #464210-5220 - Jaguar Part No. 1X43 10E898 BC (2003)
New DVD = DENSO Part # 464210-9090 - Jaguar Part No. 6W83-10E898-BC (2006)

I have searched Google for people with similar problems and there is some discussion of a firmware update but I can't find anything on it. My local dealership (Las Vegas) appear clueless on the subject so I turn to the community.

Can anyone shed any light on my problem?

the 6w83 disks are not compatible with the 1x43

Thanks for the response and message.

Someone pointed out that the 1X43 series disks are the only ones compatible with the 2003 S Type R. I am thus returning the disk I bought and have ordered a new disk from NAVTEQ ($199 + Tax + Shipping). Jaguar part # 1X43-10E898-BG (Data as of Feb 2007).
