Default Need compatibility verification for STR HOOd insulation pad

Hey guys, I'm heading over to the Salvage yard on MOnday and there's an 02' S jag that has the HOOD insulation padding which I need for my STR 03' which it didnt have when I bought the car:P, anyhow I wanted to know if there is any difference if I put the 02' S type hood padding on my 03' STR? I'm hoping it should not make any difference since the hoods look the same or I may be wrong
Please help.

Thanks mate, I've been searching all over the net to get a hold of this dam insulation pad, I dont wanna ruin my paint b/c I dont have it on . I found out today that I dont even have the rear subwoofer speakers behind the headrests. The person who had this car before took them out for whatever reason, and didnt even tell me, but ohh well, have to start searching for some compatible subwoofer speakers that will fit.
thanks again for your input!

No problem, glad to help. As far as the speakers go, many S-Type owners change out the stock stereo & speakers within the first month of ownership. (Just look at Phd12volt's car.) You just have a head start.

I've just joined and apparently can't post a new thread so I realize this isn't the right place for this but does anyone know if the Jaguar XK and XF smartkeys can be programmed (paired) with the new 2011 XJ?

Boy those are really nice hoodliners!! And the price is very good!! The dealer replaced the hoodliner on my 2005 STR and it is $385 from Jaguar!!! His is only $95. Much better quality and it looks great.
Good find and thanks!!

Thanks to "Cadillac" for mentioning about the hoodliner tech on x type forum or else I would have never known.! .

UPdate: The tech messaged me telling me the 03' hood design is different than the 05's and up, so he needs a template so he can start designing it and fabricating it, soo it looks like mine is going to take longer :P to make.

Thank you jag79

The 2005+ minor update for the S Type included a new hood. It's not much different but the grill is now at a differnt angle and this changed the length and contour of the front of the hood.

I'm the guy making the hoodliners, whenever you'd like I can help. For forum members the liners are $65 as opposed to $95! Far better than the $385 from Jaguar which gets you an original material liner that will fail again. I'm helping out the XKR/XK8 owners now as well.

My contact info is in my signature below, please visit my page at www.hoodliners.net !

I know this is random, but would you consider making them for the r129 class Mercedes SL? The factory hood pads are garbage and deteriorate at an alarming rate... Replacements are only about $150 but they have to be glued on with contact cement. Yours are self adhesive right?

Let me know, you can PM if you don't want to go too off topic here.

George

Hi George, I could make a liner for your 1990 Mercedes R129SL, I only need a template made from the original, or your original if it's still in one piece. If not I could send you a section of my liner material based on your mesaurements of width x height that you need to cover.

Mine won't deteriorate, all the info is on my hoodliner page. They aren't self-adhesive, 3M #80 spray adhesive is needed to attach my liners to the underhood. For forum members the price is $65 for the liner, $15 for each decal and $13 Priority Mail shipping in the USA, $23 to Canada, $36 to Australia, $35 to the UK and parts of Europe.
