Carchex.com is a reputable place for a warranty. I paid $2300 for my 2001 S-type with 62,000miles. My coverage is for 4 years. So until 2012 my engine, electrical, drivetrain, and transmission are all covered. TAKE THAT DEJINERO!!! Speaking of the devil..... DEJINERO you started this thread how are things going? That sounds like a reasonable deal. Do they require an inspection of the car before they will service-insure the car ? I have about twice as much mileage as that on my 2000.

Not sure Aeneas if you car will be covered. Carchex doesn't inspect the car. They simply take your VIN, region location, and driver infointo consideration before giving you a quote. Very good company to deal with.Check and see if they will warranty your ride.

 

If Carchex (or other such insurers) service-insures your car, do they allow you to take the car to any service shop ? Do they set limits on how much they will pay for particular repairs ? I cannot imagine they would recommend their insureds taking the car to the Dealership. The Dealership is the most wasteful place a vehicle could be taken, especially Jaguars.
