New S-Type no key
It isn't actually the fob that gets programmed, it is the door module in the car that reads two successive transmitted codes from the fob and records them to establish synchronization. The fob just spits out codes in a pseudorandom sequence.
The car is running now. However the key hes not been cut. Locksmith took the ignition switch and did something to it so it accepts the uncut key. He then programmed the key with a SKP 900 key programmer. I managed to start the car a few times but now the key does not come out of the lock anymore. I have ordered a used key with ignition switch, trunk lock and door lock. I will have to program my new key when it arrives with IDS i guess?
