Default P1647...whats with the drive for 10 min?

P1647 EMS
EOBD
ECM HO2 Sensor control
malfunction –
bank 2 upstream (2/1)

Drive vehicle for 10 minutes

Default:
– HO2S 2/1 control circuit
inhibited
— HO2 Sensor 2/1 heater failure
HO2 Sensor 2/1 sensing circuit:
short circuit to ground, short circuit to
high voltage, open circuit, high resistance
ECM Failure

After replacing the battery i am constantly getting this, now im like what now?

brake motor still doing the same thing, im going to lube the crap out of the lines and see if that helps. Heading for some wd-40 now. i have the brake module disconnected so i can "power up" the motor itself.

Brutal if you could give an idea of what to trace down for that code, i would apreciate it. If anyone else has run into this, let me know. I want to get everything fixed within the next week or so.

Thanks in advance

I would say the bank 2 upstream O2 sensor heater has failed. Disconnect the two upstream sensors and check the heaters with an ohmmeter. Check the SILVER TERMINALS, not the gold ones, they are the sensor crystal itself. The left one is probably open circuited. The resistance should be either around 1.5 Ohm or around 3-3.5 Ohm, I can't remember which is which, up or downstream.

Hope that helps!
