avos said they have 8 rib belts. Then you Guys are in great shape as far as the belt go's. Sounds like you guys have a nice engine to start with. Iam Learning about this engineThey did something right from the start. Nice, I like that. Another easy way and about 1/2 second in the 1/4 would be 3.70 gears in the rear depending what gears are there now. 3.70 would put you in traps at red linein fourth nice.I would think you would have in the 2.75 area now because of the overdrive. Anyone know the gear numbers?

around 2.87

Our cars reallllllllly need a LSD. Very badly. So badly that I'd buy one of those first rather than a s/c pulley.

At the track. My 60ft's were horrible. If I take traction control off then one wheel spins way down the track. I'm positive that you'd see str's in the 12's easily stock with TCS off and a LSD installed.

I just can't find one...

Wow, water to air really? That is pretty badazz...I wonder how big the resevoir is? I'm assuming that this is a self contained system that has its own coolant and doesn't share fluid with the engine coolant. I bet a larger coolant resevoir and heat exchanger would increase the efficiency of the system. I wonder what kind of fluid it has? If it's just water there are waaaay better options out there...you could also put ice in the resevoir for quarter mile runs.

Is it possible the str has a Ford rear in it? Would need the rear serial # and some research. There must be alot of Ford parts used in are cars.Like the 5r55n trans, as soon as I get a chance Iam going get all the specs on it and see what will fit.

Doh! I had this file on my desktop. I keep forgetting it there...
So we have a 3.05 rear gear.

Only problem is that it doesn't say what size the differential is. I speculate it's the same 8.8" that comes out of cobras...

I have a JTIS disc that I'll use to try and find some info..

9.1 sec. in the 1/8th will net you around a 14 flat 1/4 mile pass. For an untuned STR you'll need to run low 8's to squeeze a high 12. My car is untuned and ran a 13.13 on a cold day and that was with an8.49 in the1/8th.

This company has interesting options for adding performance to the STR. It's just too bad that they are located so far from where I am.

I think I am just going to go for it this weekend... I'm pulling the blower and I'm going to match in inlet to the gasket and clean up the inside a little.. I will let you guys know how it goes..

Please document and take pictures if you can! I would be forever in your debt.

Also, I might have found us a line on a carbon fiber intake for the STR's.
Check out this race car...
http://www.ferlitomotors.com/gallery.../2007-6-Adria2

Notice how the carbon fiber cold air intake goes straight into the grill... That means they probably had to relocate the coolant tank..

I wish I could talk to them and ask them questions. What sort of differential do they use? Where can I purchase a fiberglass hood? Where did they relocate their coolant tank to? Who makes the intake??

so many questions...

Hi All,

Maybe some of you have noticed some nice performance gains we have done for a XKR, if not here is the link from the XK8/R Forum:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/m_65200/tm.htm

Now what would you guys think if we could do the same for the StypeR?

Andre.

Unless someone can adapt an LS2 or LS7, our cars are never going to see the low 12s............
