Default Please review my alignment and hi-flow cats repair order

I am taking my car to a friend's auto repair shop tomorrow to see if he can fix the CEL post high-flow cats bug my car has, and for alignment. I have done much research on this forum, its so full of great info! We have members that really know what they are talking about, rather than wanna-be autophiles who pretend to know what they are saying the like Mercedes forums I used to be on. Anyway, I made a list of work I need and recommendations per the advice I gathered on this forum, can you all please look at my attachment and see if I am spot on? I am taking the STR in tomorrow....

EDIT - I had to upload each page individually to get it to work....

Can I ask why the cats were changed? Aftermarket ones don't seem to offer much if any power gains.

Be sure and use the correct alignment specs. Search for Brutal’s recommendation. He has posted it several times and I think it's in the FAQ section. Insist the shop follow his numbers.

They are wrong almost all the time otherwise.

You got in before I could get attachments to work lol . My understanding is that my second attachment are the "Brutal specs" (at least I hope they are, I found them on this site with happy users after lowering springs install).

I went with aftermarker high-flow cats based on all the hype on this forum about it. Earlier, I posted about a shop that I went to that builds race cars and they didnt want to install the Magnaflow cats because they said (as happened) I would get check engine light headaches and that the OEM cats are actually good enough. After looking at the OEM cats, they are pretty small and are indeed proabably good enough so I'm ready to throw them back on if the CEL doesnt go away.

IMO and others here will agree....hi-flow cats do wonders good for throttle response and some ponies. Often times the installer leaves pre cat exhaust leaks and the hi-flo cats can benefit from O2 spacers. As for alignment: Tell tech to try to get the front and rear toe closest to "0".

Seth you good to go bro! That checklist you made should be plenty for him to do. Just make sure you do the ECU reset because I'm sure he's just going to take of the negative terminal and place it back on. Its better if you do it yourself the proper way of touching the neg cable to the positive one.

Good luck and let me know the results if the CEL went away. I'm glad you making good use of my pics of the HI Flow CATS!!

P.S the Magnaflow HI Flow CATS are the way to go for anyone looking for replacement of there OEM CATS and to gain the extra ponies.

I think that this is the spec that is attached to the FAQ's it is a bit more comprehensive than the sheet you have but may be basically the same.
