II had one of the rubber pipes for the power steering cooler coming off the aluminium pipe where fitted with a hoses clamp. Made a mess and sounded glug glug. The clamp has most likely not been properly tightened last I was there!
Fixed that, but the car continued to loose oil! Big red pool under the car.
Incredibly it turned out to be an additional fault with the rubber feed pipe from the oil reservoir, where it goes unto the power steering pump, having a crack 40 degrees around the pipe just behind the spring clamp. The rubber pipe is covered with an aluminum protective ribbed cover, and only by removing this did it become visible as the crack was behind the cover.
The spring clamp is almost impossible to get at, if you don't lift the engine one side.
Ended up making a special tool to remove the clamp.
Now off!!
