Default Product review

So over the weekend, I changed out the pads on all 6 calipers, and Im very satisfied.

They are the Napa Premium brake pads for 2003 STR.

Fronts UP-7840-M $65.99*
Rear UP-7831-M $ $73.49*
Parking brake UP-7872-M $73.49*

Initial Impression: intial bite is alot more tame when cold, along with steady pedal pressure no fluxations. The brakes are alot easier to proportion by pedal pressure. No more fear of unsecured items flying forward.

When hot these pads are monsters when it comes to grip, I've noticed alot smoother feirce bite. I have not replaced the rotors just pad slapped it from the brembo texstar pads.

My only complaint since they are very grippy when hot expect a change in the behavior of the DSC. It will jerk you around if you let it.

So far with 150 miles I see no signs of the evil brake dust. Will do a follow up in a few days.

Im still on the hunt for the rotors and havent decided what Im going to do.
The composite rotors seem so tempting getting rid of the unsprung weight not sure I can justify the cost although they look sick.

Disclaimer: This is not a shameless plug for NAPA auto parts, just doing an unbiased review if others would like to try them out.
*Prices may vary by market

So the DSC cuts in more when the pads are hot?

Not cutting in more, just gets ya a little harder, it really stops wheel spin and the car really lurches when you regain traction, sort of like an AWD launch.

4000 miles later. These pads are rocking. I don't see visible wear on the rotors like the oem texstar brembo pads. Wife reports the
Brakes are way more managable then before. About
80% less dust and makes for a comfortable stop and go experience. Although then you lay into the brakes they are quick to grab and attempt to put you into the hood which is a good thing 100mph to 0mph are just awesome no pedal pulse from abs and just a nasty aggressive bite. But docile in stop and go.

If you are in the market for budget pads I highly recommend them.

Yessir plus a lifetime warranty against wear and defects.

Never really understood that but hey you can take the worn out pads and get freebies. Never buy another set again haha!
