I'll take the lip kit off it and wouldn't mind some larger fender flares maybe 2"-3" to make what I have planned work.

DTM S-Type??

As far as that thing ugh.. I bet he drives around with the seat in that position hanging off the steering wheel too...

Take care,

George

A very classy DTM or a VIP inspired look. although all the negative camber from both is a problem which is why I'd like to stretch the flares out a little since I'm looking at 9.5x18 fronts and 11x18 rears.

I'm thinking about making a mold of the existing flares and stretch them or visit my local salvage yard and cut away the wheel areas and graft the stretch in a very mild classy manor I want it to look factory as possible.

Fronts will be easy it's the rears I'm not so sure about. There's very little room between the rear of the doors and the arch

Or like the hamaan kit

Stay away from the VIP stuff... Not feeling the curtains or junction produce rope tie things in the rear view mirror.

I like the hamman look, but also without the wing. I'd mold the STR wing to the trunk. I didn't realize hamman made stuff for our cars. Just like when they do a DTM 3 series or the old 190e's you need to add a piece of the rear flare to the door to balance it out.

cut the "cheater" quarters out of the donor car if you can. (Jam to tail light, to the body line at least). It's not that hard to flare them.

If you airbag the car, you can get decent camber out of it. Adustable rear camber arms can't be TOO hard to machine can they??

Take care,

George

I just shake my head and wonder if the morons who waste buckets of money on crap like this are spending their welfare checks on it....

I'm not going after after the interior of VIP, not feeling like airbags again since it is an R.

The main thing I'm looking for are wide wheels deep lips and all while trying to stay subtle and classy

I've never been a fan of the crystal interiors, curtains and other VIP related items. Just the huge wheels lowered stance.

What I don't like about street DTM. Is the crazy camber and ultra stretched wheels. Riding on the edge of sidewall/barrel has nothing but negative impacts for grip

My guess is that and a combination of pharmaceutical sales revenue.

Take care,

STR isn't the right car to slam. Airbags or H&R springs are your only options. You can get 20's with a pretty agressive lip. but not 5" in the back if that's your thing. You need a bmw or something that uses much less wheel offset for that.

KW does make a coilover setup for the S-Type, but I don't know if it's compatible with the R. You'll lose the cats suspension for sure, but that's neither here nor there. But for the price of the coilovers, you might as well go airbags...

Take care,

George

They are wasting their drug money on the same. A welfare check wouldn't pay for an R decal.

Which is ironically the one thing that this car doesn't seem to have...
