Hi folks and good day,

I have a 2005 S Type, 4.2 V8. VIN ends in "N23###". Yesterday a dog darted into my path and was hit by the front of the car. The center plastic section of the lower bumper cracked and a finned tube in front of the radiator developed a leak of greenish fluid, which was cold as it was escaping. I assume refrigerant. Does anyone know what this part is called and possibly even a part #. I am attaching a picture of the offending part.

The dog, it appears, made it ok. As I stopped to turn around, the fellow behind me said the dog rolled off to the right of the car then got up and ran into the woods. No sign of him when I returned to the scene.

Thank you very much,

Chris G.

That is part of your HVAC system's condenser. It will need to be replaced. This will be an expensive repair, so shop around before you commit. You'll be far better off at your local indie A/C shops than at your dealership....

Sorry for your problem and thanks for the picture!

I have been looking for a good view of the A/C dryer when Jaguar changed it to the side tube attached to the condenser.

I have broken that plastic grille from hitting a chuck of tire. It's expensive and expect a multi hundred dollar cost.

Sorry but this lousy new software we have on the forum is terrible! I can't place pictures where I want them. Wish they had not changed it!
