Smile Accelerator and brake pedals too close to each other?

Dear jag fans,

Have any of you noticed that the accelerator and brake pedals on the s type are too close to eachother. My foot sometimes gets stuck when switching from accelerator pedal to brake pedal. Any tips would be appreciated.

Assuming an Automatic car????

We are RHD, so please bear that in mind when flaming me guys.

Back in the day, I had that with the XJ-S, and simply went looking for a smaller pedal rubber, then cut the pedal metal pad to suit to new rubber, with the accent on less on the accelerator side of the chop. Then my right leg went "bad", so I have left footed the brake now for too many years, and it is simply instinct.

I dont have issues with the S Types, but the X300 was a tad close, but she is gone now.

No idea why I thought of finding a pedal pad FIRST, coz I usually do things backwards and yell at myself to remember that DUMB move next time. I rarely do.

Like removing the DRAIN plug BEFORE removing the FILL plug, bad idea.

The only time I noticed interference was while wearing very large and heavy snow boots.

The cure was simple.

My experience is same as Mikey. I have no problem with pedal placement until I don my Winter shoes with big soles. Then, yes, occasionally I get clumsy and catch my shoe going from one pedal to the other.

Spring is just about here. Problem will resolve itself in a week or two once all the muck is gone and I can wear regular shoes again.

No problem for me either, and I wear size 15 shoes....

Sometimes a grippier floor mat will give you better heel pivot control between the two pedals. Borrow a friend's rubber mat and give it a try....
