Removing the J-gate in the S-type R

Hi, was just wondering if you have to remove the Sat Nav system to access the 2 bolts at the front of the J-gate assembly since the ashtray assembly wont budge after removing the 2 screws.

Do you have the JTIS?

yes I have looked through JTIS but couldn't find anything apart from one picture on how to remove the metal surround cover which is straight forward anyway

If you go to jagrepair.com you can download a copy of the workshop manual. It has all the pictures which I used to get to the radio. This showed how to remove the gear lever etc.

cheers Ducon, the answer was indeed in the workshop manual Section 5 or 3104 page number. I was failing to depress the upper and lower tangs on the ashtray unit.
