Default Retrofit Power Folding mirrors?

Hello all. I’ve read up on a forum explaining how easy it is to retro fit power folding mirrors to your S type. I’m aware of how to test and see if your car has them.. Mine doesn’t.. obviously
But my concern is. There’s a seller by the name who, if you have power folding mirrors, sells a module to make them compatible with with pressing the lock button pon the key Fob.
Finally, the question.. I’m here to ask if I buy power folding mirrors and simply plug them in, without the PCB, will they work? Is there no other way to adapt them to the vehicle?

Sounds interesting but difficult to accomplish.

I’d like this mod too. Don’t know enough to answer your question, but I would be interested to find out.
I had a brief look on ebay. It looks like you probably need the switch and the relay associated with the powerfold mirrors. Also there don’t seem to be many LH power folding mirrors in the UK. By my calculations, it will cost:
Switch £30.00 (used)
Relay £15.00 (new)
LH mirror £60.00 (used)
RH mirror £45.00 (used)
Door panel clips £8.00 (new. Almost certainly you will break one or two)
Optional doohickey for making mirrors fold when locking £13.00 (new from China).
That means it will probably cost a minimum of £158.00 in parts.

Yea I wouldn’t mind spending that at all.

If you do manage to accomplish this change please be sure to do a write up with photos of the modifications even a final video of them in action.
Then you next mode, dipping the mirrors when in reverse! LOL. Thanks
