Default S Type 2.5 v6 2003

Hi to all thats having problems with top hose assembly on this model. I looked around for a joinong piece for the hoses as all my hoses were like new and jaguar would only sell the whole unit. Obviously a way of making money as the t pieces regularly fail. On mine it was the turret looking piece that came off. On looking at it i found this had not broken but had basicaly seperated. So i went to halfords bought some evo stik serious glue fix and repair. Cleaned up t piece and applied glue in recess and put the t piece back in. I then secured around it Fixx IT self fusing repair tape as used by military. This tape can be sourced at halfords. It can be used on radiator hoses and leaking exhausts and gives an instant seal and lasts for years. The glue used is good for temos in excess of 130 degrees C and tape is upto +260 topped up with anti freeze red and all is good with no leeks. Cost of glue £3.99 cost of tape £ 5.00 and already had anti freeze in my garage. Total cost of repair couple hours work including strip down repair and rebuild for under £10.00 come on jaguar make the t piece a consumable item that can be bought seperately from hoses. At the end of the day it is your components that are failing and poorly designed. Make a moulded aluminium part for this and do away with the failures.

There may also be a hose supplied by an aftermarket vendor available via the Internet, or from one of the parts houses such as Halford's.

This upper coolant hose is an item that frequently fails as the plastic can only withstand a finite number of cold to hot to cold cycles. It is a good idea to replace the hose whenever there is a sign of coolant seepage.
