Default S-Type 2001 Adjust manual Handbreake

Hi,
The handbrake lever takes very high and does not hold car well.
Can't find any information how to adjust it, is it under the car or within lever itself?

Thanx.

You can attempt to adjust the handbrake by operating the lever up and down several times. It is possible the cable is stretched or there is an issue with the the rear brake caliper(s).

Check JTIS Workshop Manual for procedures, which is a free download on this forum.

It is not an electric handbrake so it does not have any automatic self adjustments, it is just one plus two cables... And what could be wrong with a calipers if breaks itself working perfectly?
Does any one know if X-type brakes are similar to S-type, because there is just a simple cable adjustment?

The handbrake is adjusted on the 2001 MY X200 by operating the lever up and down several times. That is the adjustment procedure, which is different from the X400.

As suggested previously, download JTIS Workshop Manual and read the section on the 'parking brake' (Chassis section 206-05).
