Default S-Type brake bleeding after brake pipe replacement

Hello everyone,

my 2003 S-Type had a rusty brake pipe that my father replaced with a new one, however we have been unable to bleed the brakes after the brake pipe was replaced and the reservoir was refilled with new fluid. We tried the traditional method of brake bleeding by pushing the brake pedal and opening the bleed nipples but no air came out and the brake pedal still feels very soft. Is there a special procedure for bleeding brakes after a presumed emptying of the brake lines?

My second question is related to the seat position sensor that has been bugging my S-Type since I had new sills welded, the seat position sensor keeps throwing up an airbag fault which prevents me from getting it inspected. Since the sensor itself is not sold separately anywhere I was wondering whether I could buy the sensor from a donor seat and swap it into my seat without any programming needed?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Here is a link to the X202 through X208 Workshop Manual:

Refer to the section on 'brake system bleeding' for the correct procedure and necessary tools.
