My 2000 s Type (US),,right front fender skin was always pulling away from the fender and looking unsightly. The factory fastener was a little defective and I didnt want to order another as fear it would not completely fix the problem.
I remover the fastened,, for ease of work, and glued a 2x2x1 wood block unto the windshield washer tank. After drying,, I simply used a wood screw through the skin into the block of wood. a dab of black paint and its finally fixed. This is a 30 min or less project with zero cost.
