S-Type Key Fob
Hey guys, just still chipping away at my inherited S-Type...
I've finally got the car started and I'm now doing it daily until it can get into the garage for a full service.
However I'm having issues with both of the key fobs. They both seem to have the usual issue of the buttons getting stuck so now I know I need to either get new buttons or a new circuit for it.
Am I right in thinking if I order a new circuit from eBay just for the one fob I will need to pay an auto locksmith to program it for me? I don't have to do both fobs at the same time?
I've already searched the forums but feel like I'm confusing myself more :-(
Many thanks for any help

The only way to add a new key fob circuit board to your s-type is to use the Jaguar software. (You have to remove them all and then add them all back on including the new one.)
This is IDS up to 04 model year cars, and SDD for 05 model year facelift cars made from Jan 2004 onwards.
It is unlikely that a locksmith will have the Jaguar software and dedicated interface to do this.
As above I would recommend that you replace the switches on the circuit boards.
