I will be going to the UK on business for about a month, so for grins I surfed the local Jaguar dealer for S-Types. Price ranges from about 8,000 pounds to about 18,000 or so pounds. These were for 5 years or newer models. Interesting in that engines were predominantly 2.7 Liter diesels in various variations with just a few exceptions. There seemed to be a larger color selection other than the usual black, white or silver. I will probably go there on a day off to see what parts or accessories are available.

I look forward to what you have to say from a UK-to-US Jaguar driving experience comparison. I would expect that the performance characteristics between their diesel models and our gasoline models will provide you with some very interesting differences. Keep us posted. When do you expect to make the trip?

 

I leave Monday. I'm not sure the dealer will let me go for a test drive, but you never know. If do get to go to the dealer, I'll ask about 2005 STR fog light kits, since there seemed to some interest in them. They may have an aftermarket kit available. If they do, I'll try to post how to order them to the states.

That would be interesting since there is no listing on the UK Jaguar site. The US S-type Accessories catalog shows a r type front facia upgrade with fog lamps but specifically says that it will not fit the supercharged car. Should have to do with the fact that the intercooler is down there.
