S type? Seat wiring for motor powering
Sorry uploaded photos from my ipad and it deleted the text i entered
Hi Guys just joined your forum to basically as this question if i may.
I have just aqquiired a pair of supposedly jaguar S type seats with the motors still installed and im wondering if i can get the motors powered up by a 12v battery so i can use the tilt and up down system.
i have just removed the airbags from both seats as i didn't want that concern when using them out of the car so if anyone wants some free airbags i have two for free. (part no 1X43F611D10AD)
So if anyone can identify which wires i need to power if its possible otherwise im thinking i may have to power the motors with a custom loom and bypass the stock switches and use my own.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks Ross....

Welcome to the forum, Ross.
You'll need to know what Model Year S-type the seats are from. I know from experience that seats from an 07 will install nicely and plug right up to the wiring looms in both a 2003 and 2005, but the motors won't buzz.....atalll. So...figure out which MY Stype they're from. Make an introductory post in the new members area to garner notice from a mod and in compliance with the forum rules and guidelines, thank the nice people who respond to your intro post thus getting your post count above 10, and you'll then be able to download the appropriate wiring guide from right here in the stickies at the head of the S-type forum and trace the seat adjustment functions thereon.
Good luck with your leather gaming chairs!

If you know the year the seats came from just select the correct one from the list in the Electrical section on this web page look for the seat section and it will give you the wireing.
