Default sealing the cowl from water

I'm trying to find the post on how to seal the cowl so water doesn't leak in plug wells.
Would a bead of silicone along the underside of the cowl screen work?

Some owners have indeed laid down a bead of silicone in that area for water-sealing purposes. Most tend to report back that it fixes their water ingress problem. Just be aware that whenever you must remove the cowl, you'll have to scrape off all of the old silicone and lay down a new bead upon re-install. That could add considerable time and effort to the process....

I would try foam window insulation tape, found at ant Big Box home improvement store. I cannot remember the thickness needed between cowl and windscreen, may be 1/2" (13mm).

Oh if that doesn't work. There was a member (Jons buddy ) that swore rubber base board molding worked........No pics in thread though.

Oh no, not a resurrected Daniel Satur tip again. Baseboard molding was his idea. Uh, I don't recommend it....

I am confused. The cowl cover allows water to enter, but drains out each side through the drains. Are they plugged up? Even your driver side wiper has a water drain. What am I missing here?

The plastic cowl can warp over time, losing its seal and allowing water to enter at the middle of the windshield and potentially soaking the spark plug wells. If the cowl-area drains happen to be clogged up, that exacerbates the problem....
