Small Coolant leak
Took my 2000 3.0 S-type out for a short drive last weekend. Got home, opened the hood and found a very small pool of coolant. It appears to be coming from this t shaped connector (between the 2 green dots). Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what this part is?
Thanks
Thanks
It looks like the part that goes from the radiator fill tank that splits to the throttle body and the upper radiator hose assembly.
If it is, then these are prone to break.
You can replace this part with a brass t - piece with barbs that will grip the hoses and you won't have the problem of the plastic breaking in the future. Plumbing suppliers should have these.
When you replace it. Be careful with the hose that goes to the upper radiator hose assembly. As the small plastic male connection point is also prone to breaking. I have broken both. But the upper radiator assembly is an expensive replacement. If you break this part and the rest of the hose assembly is in good condition then plastic welding can save some money.
I hope this helps good luck.
