hi , can i hit the sport button whilst moving or must it be engaged before moving

You can hit it at anytime during driving. I use the Sport/Normal options as an overdrive. In conditions below 50 mph (in town driving) I use the Sport mode. At speeds above 50 mph I use the Normal mode like an overdrive. This seems to give me the best of both worlds, fairly good acceleration and good fuel economy. I have a 3.0 V6 and it's a pretty nice package overall. If you keep it on the boil you can move about pretty smartly.

I am a newbie as well and was wondering about the button functionality.
So Normal City driving use "Sport mode" and anything above 50mph use "normal mode" correct?

 

The only thing the button does is raise the transmission shift points while in 'S' mode. This difference is almost unnoticeable unless the car is being driven in a spirited manner.

 

Sport mode changes shift points by keeping trans in gear longer. Price for admission is decreased gas mileage.
