Default Squeeky rear suspension

My 2003 STR has started to get a rather loud, squeaky rear suspension. Anyone have any guess as to the culprit? Also, anyone know what I should expect to pay for parts? Thank you!!!

Always do the easy/cheap stuff first!!

Unhook the rear sway bar end links and then check for your squeak. That will eliminate the sway bar end links and the rear sway bar bushings.

If you still have a squeak try to see which bushing it is. There are a number of them in the IRS. Control arm bushings would be my target.

Spraying them with water/WD40/Silicone will quiet them down but that is only a temporary solution to see which one or ones it is.

Has anything in the rear suspension been changed out?

I also have developed a rear suspension squeak.. it sounds terrible and it's very loud and at any speed I can hear it.

If I were you I would first call a family member that knows a lot about cars, everyone has one of these MacGyvers that we can call to investigate the problem. I know that many JAGs are different then regular cars and parts, but you'll be surprised what MacGyver can do to save you a fortune.

Nothing in rear suspension has been changed out lately. Thank you for the reply - I too suspect bushings....

Have you had a look at the granddaddy of them all bushing thread??

http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/f104/definitive-wishbone-bush-thread-28414.html

Be sure and read the long discussion thread too. We are slowly getting suppliers for the bushings. Not all of them yet but it's completely stupid to replace Aluminum suspension arms just because we can't get the bushings separately!!
