STR Headgasket Procedure - Supercharged
This one if for those who have experience replacing the head gaskets on the S-Type R or have a need to do so.
I’m following the procedures on JTIS but it does not call for the removal of the supercharger or the Charge air coolers or the Intake manifolds. It indicates removing the front engine cover which includes the removal of the Valve Covers, Front Left wheel, AC Compressor and Power Steering pump. The reason why I ask this is because I have done the head gaskets before on my 2000 XKR. Also following the JTIS procedures.
If you have had success in doing this before; did you have to remove the Supercharger and the Intake manifolds? I assume they are bolted onto the Heads and in order to remove them the supercharger would also have to come out to access the screws to the Air Charge cooler and eventiualltually the manifold. It would be an huge improvement if the Supercharger can be left in place because the removal of the Intake elbow just beneath the throttle body is a PITA.
Thanks in Advance
