Default Supercharger Porting

If your thinking about having your supercharger ported... Use Stiegemeier, they are the best.. they are one of the few companys that will touch Jag blowers and they are way better than PSE in my opinion.. their turnaround is very quick, about 2 days and their prices are very reasonable.. also while they're porting you s/c if you send them a pulley with it they install it while they have your unit apart..

Did you re-install your s/c yet? Is there a noticeable hp increase over pre-ported?

Any one have a write up on removing the charger? I searched the form but found nothing. Is it pretty straight forward? I'm sure I will need a new gasket any thing else? It would be a good time to change the plugs since less obstacles in the way. How many miles are too much to port the charger, I mean if the car has a 100,000 on it will it hurt the engine to see a larger amount of horse power? Thanks again for your comments.

If you've done you maintance and the timing chain tensioners, I wouldn't worry so much about the engine. You may want to make sure the transmission is serviced. That requires a special machine. I would worry more about the extra strain there.

Boy that's great!! Did you change the upper pulley too? Snout rebuild? Total cost?? I hope you run it at the track to see the improvement!

It is ported, nose shaved and 3lb pulley installed. It is the same cost as pse, but with shorter downtime. I mailed it on thursday, fedex ground, they got it friday, I had it back on thursday. That is mailing from IL to MO though, so not too far. PSE said it would take a few days once they got to my charger, and it would be a few days or so before they could even get to it. I will be taking it back to the track in the spring. My time in my signature was with just mina gallery intake and exhaust. I will have that, plus, ported supercharger, eurotoys multi piece pulley kit with 3lb pulley, low temp tstat from eurotoys, iridium plugs, and a tune, next time i am at the track.

Budsang,

It is awesome to see that you are progressing so well with your XJR build! Would you happen to have a picture comparison for the stock supercharger vs the ported supercharger? I am pretty interested to see how much of a difference there is with the Stiegemeier port job in terms of how much metal was taken off.

Congrats on all your parts!

Oh perfect. Could you post some of these "after" pictures? I think it should be easy to tell which areas of the supercharger were processed.

Do you plan on putting your car on the dyno after all of these mods? It would be excellent to see how much power you gain! Since we both have a 2004 XJR, I think my baseline number of 322rwhp should reflect what you could expect stock. With my pulley, I achieved 340rwhp. I wonder if your numbers will be around 380rwhp...

Also, do you plan on beefing up the transmission? I am sure you are aware that, from the factory, our transmissions are only rated for 445ft lbs of torque. With your mods, you should be well above that level.

I wonder if there are any gains in porting other parts of the
intake system? This piece seem like a good candidate??
