So I need a little help. I have recently acquired a 2005 S Type Base model and boy does she need some work. One of the things I have noticed is that whenever I press the Reset for trip A or B or try to reset the MPG I get the message that the Trip has been Reset, however nothing changes. Instead of going to 0.0, it stays at it's current mileage. (Currently reading 617 miles roughly) How do I get this Cat to reset? How do I get it to clear the Trip? I have tried the Hard Reset by disconnecting the battery, and it reset everything back to 0, but that's gonna suck if I have to do that everytime! Any help would be appreciated. If anyone else has had this issue, let me know what you did to fix it.

 

You may just need to hold the button longer. It tells you it is resetting before it does it.

 

I've been messing with this thing since I got this Cat 6 months ago. Magically, it started working this morning. I'm not sure, but I think that the Fault Codes and messages may have been affecting it somehow. I was finally able to clear all the Fault Codes and messages last night and it starts working this morning. Think there might be a correlation.
