The N/S rear passenger door on my UK S Type will not lock. This is not only annoying but more than a little dangerous where I live. It closes and is securely closed but doesn't lock from the key fob when I lock (?) the car. Anyone have any advice/solution to resolve this? Also post battery change the touch screen needs the code, which naturally I do not have. It had the lock issue before the battery was replaced. I have been through the scanty information I got when I bought the car (3 days ago) but the code isn't present, Nor is the owners handbook but that I have sorted out by buying one on e pay.

 

Remove the door card and check the wiring loom to see if there is power to the lock actuator. If power is present, most likely the actuator needs to be replaced.

Can the door be locked from inside?

I haven't tried to lock it from the inside Duh!
My excuse is I have only had the car three days.

 

Lock it from the inside. Does it unlock with the central locking?
If it does you may have the same problem I had on the same door (nsr on a uk model).
I took the handle and lock out to find a rusty pivot on lever connecting the lock to the handle. After using lots of penetrating oil, I was able to free it off. Then cleaned it off and greased it with waterproof grease. It has been fine since then!😃

 

The code is not needed for the head unit!!
Just press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
