Default Very Aggravated

I took my car into a local EUROPEAN car specialist as is it much closer than any Jaguar dealership. My car, a 2003 Jag S type R, was running just fine. All I wanted was to get the Fob on my one and only key to work so I could use the keyless entry. I was told it would only take 30 minute and cost $50 to $150 to do. An hour passes and when I ask whats taking so long i'm told they are having trouble with the car responding and have to clear the keys codes to the car and reprogram it. So they did this and now the car will not start. They say the car will not communicate wit the key. Its been 2 days now and now my car has to sit outside at their shop all weekend because it seems they have no clue what they are doing. Last I was told they got a rewrite program from their "computer people" and were trying to get it to work. Now i'm stuck without a car all weekend or maybe even longer until they get it fixed. On top of that they want to charge me more because its taking them longer. How is this my fault? Sorry, just needed to vent. Very p*ssed and wishing i would have just left it alone and kept using the key.

Is there a Jag dealer near you? The shop you are using should be shut down for incompetence. Have it picked up and taken to a Jag dealer and get the car fixed.

No, if there were I would have taken it there. Closest one is 2.5 hours away.

Let the owner of this shop know that after the holiday weekend you will be speaking with the Better Business Bureau, the local Chamber of Commerce, your state's Attorney General's office, your own attorney, etc., if they do not get you up and running with your original key within 24 hours at no charge to you so you can find someone competent to resolve your key fob situation. If they balk even for a second, then follow up by doing all of those things. It is time for you to assume the bulldog mentality. Sometimes you must grab shoddy businesses by the throat and not let go until you get what you should have gotten on day one. You are now past that critical stage, your car is immobilized due to no fault of your own, so put your suit of armor on and head into battle against them....
