What are these and should I get them? Where to order them
I found a nice mechanic while asking about another issue my car has, and mentioned I was ordering parts from overseas. He made me photograph these parts that fit into part of the engine, said I should get 6 of each and I won't be able to get them where I'm currently at should I need them.
My vehicle's a bit older but low mileage...I guess. Is 65K (105K kms) miles considered low mileage? Its a 2005 but I digress.
What are these parts for, what are they called, and how often do they get replaced? And obviously, where would I order these parts and does it matter if they are factory or aftermarket.
p.s. for anyone that wants an unasked for update on that gearbox I had installed...well its decent enough, but the guy installed it without the gasket (?) So its leakin transmission fluid. I'm not drivin the car anymore till it gets sorted out.

Where are you located? Is the vehicle fitted with a 3.0 litre or 4.2 litre engine?
The inlet manifold gaskets are VIN-specific when ordering replacements.
Upper gaskets have JLR part number XR843536006. Lower gaskets have JLR part number XR843533. Check fitment of these part numbers against your vehicle's VIN before ordering.

Looking back at S2005's prior posts, he has a 3.0 V6. Given that this is the Duratec engine, his parts supply issues are a bit easier, I would think. The FelPro seals are readily available and good quality.
As to the "gasket" leaking on the used transmission that he had installed, my question is: which gasket? Is the pan gasket leaking, or is the mechatronic sleeve connector leaking?
Perhaps more shall be revealed...

Huge thanks to everyone that replied! Im not sure how to mention specific usernames and also on mobile currently.
I am in Kuwait, so I will be ordering the parts along with other stuff. Shipping is a rip off, gotta order in bulk.
As to the last question about the leak, I was told its the front seal. The mechanic is pointing to an example in the attached picture.

I would clean up the lower end of the engine thoroughly and then see where the oil leak is actually coming from. The V6 is known for at times developing a leak between the block and sump; mine did and was replaced under the used car dealer's warranty. I am told that Ford/Jaguar recommends replacement of the sump together with the gasket as apparently the alloy sump can become distorted and fail to seal properly upon re-installation.

The thread below is something I did many years ago in my garage on my back. I found upon getting to the sump bolrs many were lose. I wonder if I had retorqued them if I needed to replace the oil (sump) gasket.
