Default Wheel hub replacement now brakes jerk

Hey guys I was out on a ride a few mins ago and I noticed soon as I was over 50mph and hit my brake the car jerked to the left and it felt like my abs was kicking in on my brake pedal. I replaced the front pass wheel hub with sensor and now I have this issue... is there something wrong? Is there some sort of break reset to do after the wheel hub? It's kinda dangerous.

Either the hub, a bad brake hose, or the way you re-assembled the brake caliper. The right wheel is not being braked equally with the left, sending the car off to the left when you apply the brakes...

Thank for the reply. I checked over my brakes and there correct. It's just odd that it only does this if I'm over 50 mph. Anything under that and it brakes fine. Perfectly straight and all 4 wheels engage. Soon as it hits over 50 it engages abs and pulls to the left. I was reading the wheel speed sensors and all are the same and working. Anything I can check in my scanner to see what it could be?

Maybe pull the ABS fuse and disable the electrics? Then you could know if it is hardware related or being caused by the new WSS.

Do you still have the old hub and sensor? Notice a recurring theme around here? Never toss old parts until you're sure the problem is fixed.

Can you swap the old sensor into the new hub? That would quick and easy to try, and see if the problem goes away. When I changed the front hubs on my '02, the new sensor was different than the old. The new sensor would only fit the new hub, and old sensor to old hub. But if the new and old sensors match on your car, I'd try the old sensor.

My old wheel hub was humming so it got trashed but the new and old hubs are diffrent it seems like yours.
also I just took a drive and was watching the values for the 4 wheels speed sensors and when i got over the 50 mark they all 4 stopped responding.. very odd. They just stayed at there value. I find it odd all 4 are doing this now.

if they are jaguar style (metal clip) you can put your old speed sensor in. if they are lincoln/t-bird style with sensors that bolt in just return it.

then go on ebay or amazon and buy another for like $50. timken and everybody else just rebox the same china specials.

LS and S-Type use the same ABS controller. Ate had issues with cold solder joints in their modules back in the day.

I like Detroit axle stuff too. I used there stuff on my old 95 zj jeep. Good luck with it.

so would a battery being dead for a year have anything to do with the dsc? The car sat a long time and the lady told me that that message nor lights where ever on. She's was very sure of this and had paper work for the car and all. I don't think she would lie to sell it as she didn't really want to but she didn't wanna see it sit any longer

Ah, an interesting little detail. If you’ve already replaced the battery, I’d say no. But if you’ve merely recharged an old battery that sat discharged for a long time, welll…

2003+ models are very persnickety about low prestart voltage, often due to a tired battery. Early models aren’t quite so sensitive, but you may find this of interest:

Just thinking out loud, but I believe the controller compares all 4 wheel speeds and votes the oddball off the island. This might explain why the car pulls left when braking, as the controller doesn’t trust the speed signal from the right front and won’t apply that brake.

The 50 MPH thing? Could be the controller has a different response for high and low speed, and that’s the magic number.

check the actual wheel speeds against each other....easier with 2 people....i read where a difference of 1 mph will set a code.....i recently checked mine due to some trans work i had done....my fronts where about 1/2 mile difference then the rears at low speed and got closer at 60 mph....the front tires were worn pretty good and put new ones on the other day..now all the same...never a code but found it interesting
