Default Youngest STR Owner

I'm so excited about my new car I had to join this site. I also think I just might be the youngest (19 years old) S-type R owner in America. (I had read in a previous thread the youngest was like 23 or something but that was awhile ago) I'm financing my car, but the registration is in my name so I think that counts for something.

I studied up on these cars quite a bit before buying it so I do a little bit about the features/options and performance specs on this vehicle. Even though I'm not much of a gearhead I've always been very interested in automotives, especially things relating to my new toy (Jaguar S-type R).

any questions/comments/suggestions for a new owner?

i bought mine as a present to myself for my 21st birthday. I was, still am, and pray i always be blessed enough I was able to pay cash for it. I think ill keep it forever.

suggest you keep it perfectly spotless and clean always, make sure all the maintenance has been done, and remember its a high class luxury car that looks great cruising slow.

enjoy it!

You might be the youngest but I bought my one owner car of a 74yo gentleman. He was trading up to the new XFSC at the time.
We all know the new car buyer Jaguar clientele are getting on in years and that the company has had to make the newer XK a little easier to get into.
You don't know how lucky you are in the US here in our nanny state of Australia young drivers are prohibited in buying high powered cars.

ENJOY.

Congrats Kount. Yep, an STR for a 19 y.o. is one hot car for a dude yer age. My first car was a rotted out 1966 Volkswagen Beetle for $400. Read up on mine and others modding the STR so it may join the 500 hp luxery sport club. Remember...respect her...honor...and stay on her. LOL!

hmm... i bought my car at 19 as well.. im 20 now. guess ive just been de-throned.
lol.. enjoy your new cat my dude.. it an amazing vehicle with tons of power. but please, drive responsibly.. i swear its everyday i have some bozo up my rear tryna test me.. i just keep it moving.. (i already know what the outcome will be ) not worth the risk of getting another speeding ticket or even worse, risking the safety of other innocent drivers on the road.. that being said..me and the fambam took a trip this 3day weeknd to the Colorado river.. on those long straight away open roads of the I-10.. i was forced to put some dudes in their place.. resonsibly of course . they just couldnt keep up.. GOSH I LOVE MY STR!!

you'll soon learn that this is a very great forum with plenty of knowledgeable and very helpful members.. put your car details in your sig and most importantly.. post pics.!

Congrat's on your new Cat - enjoy. Great to see a younger person have an eye for the STR.

Some good advice above - this is a powerful car and you can run out of driving talent really quickly when giving it the beans. So take your time, get to know the mannerisms, and grow into it a little.

And don't listen to a word Seth says about more power.....he'll talk you into thinking you need to be running nitro methane just to go to the grocery store.

Dang it Seth stop corruptin' all the minors around here!

i thought there was another 19 year old floating around, i vaguely remember you saying something of that nature. ANYWAY, yeah my first car was a nissan 200sx---and it had more taps than Gregory Hines....... (google it and you will know what i mean)

ok bak on topic, congrats.......but please be mindful that you will be tested to open her up...if you really feel the need for speed, Take it to the track..... not that you cant run on the street, just please be careful and be responsible.

At 19 if i had the STR i have now, i probably wouldnt be able to contain myself....just saying.

When I purchased my STR two years ago I just turned 18. Even the owner I purchased her from asked how old I was. I am 20 now.

Chris yer dead meat when I get to Pittsburgh. My rock throwin son will be with me and we just might have a game of catch next to your ride. LOL! Kount, et all...On a serious note: Don't do what I and some others had perfomed on our STR's till the dyno runs are in. Mucho dineros were put in mods that made power sense, then there were some mods that well.... We're happy to help ya all.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your ride...

Im 21 and live on my own, a lot of people wonder how the hell i have what i have...just tell them you work hard, makes them wonder lol...

On a side note, younger girls love these things man...idk why...but your gonna need a spare cell phone to keep all the strange away from your girlfriend haha. Not trying to sound like an arrogant *****, but I'm a pretty good looking smooth talking kid, never needed any help, but ive gotten more stares, calls, and more numbers when I'm out at the bars/clubs/etc when I'm in my Jag than from my Vette... never saw that one coming.

good luck with it

Welcome to the club, you'll enjoy it here. I'm at the other end of the age spectrum, but still enjoy the Jag...

19?

Hey. I could be the youngest in Britain, being nineteen myself! I was just stopping at the motor store and a man maybe four times my age parked next to me in this stunning blue S-Type!

Quite a coincidence both joining up at the around the same time eh?!

Welcome to the forums.

... wait... S-Type R?

Title is yours.

Congrats and warm welcome to the STR family. I owned my first Jaguar when I was 17 but was a S-type 3.0 and till I was 23 I got myself my 07' STR. Maintenance is the key to have a healthy car and will last a very long time.
