ZF 6H926 differences between 4.2SC and NA
Hello,
does anyone know if the ZF 6HP26 gearboxes differ from each other except for the converter (SC is supposedly stronger) - I am asking for 4.2 NA and SC engines? It seems to me that they are all the same but the differences in the prices of used gearboxes can reach almost 100% just because someone sells from the SC version a bare gearbox without a converter.
Does replacing the entire gearbox require any adaptation by connecting a computer or is it plug & play ?
Adam.

There is a thread on here somewhere that shows far more differences than just the torque converter.
Clutch pack counts basket sizes all sorts of differences.

Ok thanks for the information. So there are a little more differences than I thought. If necessary, I will look for something from R - or XJR because it's probably the same. You don't know if it will suit younger years - mine is from 2002?
