Anyone know the exact color name and code for a red burgundy type Series 2 1974 Jaguar XJ6?
many early color charts often don't even indicate burgundy as a color option, but maybe I have it wrong as age might have change the exact reading of the paint by the eye too.
Lots of other titles such as regency red, claret and bordeaux floating about also.

 

Dont know if it will help at all for your year, but my paint code is in the drivers side door..

The space where the code plate was is visible in my driver's door but the plate has long gone. I wondered if it was Regency Red but it seemed to dark, maybe with age on the paint work. However Regency would fit with what most code charts suggest was the painting convention for red Jaguars of the period.
