Default Headliner trim clips

Hi, im looking for some interior panel clips that the headliner side trim pops onto to hold in place. Its the trim that runs around the windows and holds in the headliner. I cant find them anywhere so any help would be much appreciated. I have linked a photograph of the clip at the bottom of this page. Many thanks

Hi Jayt0009,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

A good resource for parts questions is jaguarclassicparts.com, the parts service of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. There you can look up parts diagrams like this:

And you can look up the part numbers here:

Headlining and Cantrail - Parts For XJ6 (2.9, 3.2, 3.6, 4.0) from (V)500001 to (V)667828 | Jaguar Classic Parts UK

Check with our forum sponsor independent Jaguar parts specialists SNG Barratt, Coventry West and Jagbits. If these parts are only available from Jaguar, try jaguarmerriamparts.com and gaudinjaguarparts.com, which are the online discount parts services of the Jaguar dealers in Merriam, KS and Las Vegas, NV respectively.

If you're so inclined, you can download and install the Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalog from this forum by following the instructions in this thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...uctions-48194/

Also, since the correct parts can depend on the year, model and engine displacement of your car, it's a good idea to add that information to your signature line so others don't have to ask in order to respond to your questions. For the sake of this response, I have assumed your car is a Jaguar XJ40 made between 1988 and 1992.

Finally, since we're a friendly group, please visit the New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and post an introduction so we can learn something about you and your Jag and give you a proper welcome.

Cheers,

Don

Jayt0009:
I had the same problem when I did mine. I got generic clips from the auto parts store and trimmed them up a bit to fit, and they've been holding for years. I don't think I spent more than $4… Cheapskate, I guess!
Cheers,
Scott

The original trim clips are very brittle and brake easily. I'm looking to find replacement clip in softer plastic, but haven't found any yet.
