Default Help with 93 Body panels

Looking to remove and replace a left front fender on a 93 Convt. and was wondering which years will fit. I've heard it's an odd year... I have rust on the front sill crease.

Dom,

The wing from a facelift car up until the introduction of big bumpers in April 1993 will fit. So from VIN 179737 to VIN 188104. You'll need to find a good used item as new ones are not available.

Of more concern might be the fact that rust on that silk line will indicate rust in the front sill box section behind the ring, a notorious rust area. You need to take off the ring and then see how far the rust has spread.

Good luck

Paul

Thanks Paul,

I just bought the car. It was a bit of a gamble as I purchased site unseen (lesson learned). It has 30K miles, one owner with complete documentation. Other than a few exhaust items the car is mechanically perfect. Was described as rust free...however as you can see from the photos below I have my work cutout for me. Any advice in terms of where to start? Cost etc... It looks to me that the sill is surface rust due to an old poor repair. I can't see any rust behind or underneath.

That rust is most likely caused by the atmospheric tank, which is located on the shelf panel in the inner guard.

I cut out and replaced all the metal in my LH guard in the same place as yours has rusted.

Dom,

If it's caused by the coolant catch tank, then it's really important to take off the wing as it's very likely that the top of the sill has badly corroded unfortunately.
