More on corners, I worry I'll apply too much power coming out and spin into something that is less breakable than my car. I don't park it but I'm far more careful when I give it in the wet. But it is the most fun in the dry with the top down. Even on a really hot day I take something else.

Shhh! Let him be happy in his perception of the universe. Costs us nothing.

I suggest you install one, I have these in every car I own (except the one I took apart and rebuilt). I know exactly what they do and you will be quite amazed at the results. Made by pedal commander takes only 5 minutes to install and they will take it back if you do not like it.

Based on your comment that now you can suddenly break traction in almost every gear, I don't think you do... Unless magic exists, this box just makes the throttle open sooner in the pedal travel. Essentially you could have saved $300 by just pressing the gas pedal down further, the effect is the same.

Right, that's it...I'm not going down the pulley and tune route now.

I will install this and see if I can smoke all four tyres on my 2WD

Let me explain this in a way that might be easier to understand, it is not about power it is about fooling the cars systems. If you were to turn an older Lamborghini or Porsche TT from AWD to RWD the traction controls (if you force them to attempt to activate) will eventually shut down because they were not designed to work in RWD. A car like the F type even if you turn of the traction control the electronics are designed (and the electronics in the throttle are all linked to this) to sense wheel spin and it do everything it is programmed to do to keep that wheel spin from happening. The throttle controller removes the delay the system counts on so when pushed to sport plus and max speed to override the delay the system cant respond fast enough so you get tires spinning. No more power just fooling the system. Pretty simple, though I would not hand the car to a valet with it set like that, they might put it through a wall.

I have spent close to 45 years designing modified cars, built close to 500 of them (about 400 were mine, I did not modify every car I've owned). I HATE modern technology prefer the old type of throttle (designed my own for my 997), but according to everyone I am a dinosaur (don't care about stereo or infotainment interface being slow), car performs a function and each one of mine has one (like the SUV it only goes in the snow ).

I feel like we need to have a Jaguar track day....and by track day I mean drag strip

Better yet, guys keep an eye out for the October 1/2 mile race and sign up! No better indicator of power than a trap speed.

Wouldn't it just be easier to turn off the DSC?

Is this an AWD specific thing? Because I can assure you that when traction control is, the ECU is not (or cannot?) stop tire spin.

Me too. A 4 wheel burnout would be awesome.

Default I expect it would look...

Something like this: (4 wheel burnouts are tough to find, this was actually more of a drift).

Awesome! Bust out the video camera and have at it. I think the entire forum would love seeing an AWD burnout

Maybe in January I'll be able to get to a closed track and put some real effort into it. If so I'll be sure to post up video.
