Default Machanic to install Bilstein B12 Pro Kit, etc.

Hi all,

I'm in Los Angeles and I need to install these B12 Bilsteins (see pic) along with replacing control arms, bushings, etc. If anyone knows someone who needs the work and can do the work, I'm trying to avoid the big premium shop prices. Just putting it out there.

I've bought some of the other parts - the ones I know are right. But I'm holding off until I see what else is needed and I can get a bit more guidance.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Thermo, hobbs, X-TypeMentality!

The garage would not fit the upper control arms as there were only two nuts, however, someone did find some with three nuts

Hey man I got your message, with you being a few hours behind me I'm not sure what time to call you back lol shoot me a text and that way we can both reply when its best for us lol

I'm looking forward to seeing the progress so make sure you post pictures!

Santer: Install your rear upper arms yourself and have the shop align it...

My Godspeed upper arms are for a Focus ST and have a the main body is a little shorter and has a lot more adjustment to it therefore allowing for a 3rd locking nut...

@X-TypeMentality - Thanks!

Ok - so I found a good mechanic specializes in Jags and he's fine with bringing my own parts. All good there.

But I need help with parts ya'll!

1.) What part vendor to buy aftermarket/OEM parts from? Upper and lower controls need replacing. Can I buy quality upgraded parts w/poly?

Any suggestions?

2.) Pads and front rotors will be replaced. (Rear rotors are in good shape.)

Any suggestions?

3.) What else while I'm in there???

I will do the pic thing up right since he's fine with me helping out.

I'm ready to move on this as soon as I get all the parts.

Don't fix it if it's not break, If you can't tell what it need to replace, no one can, because no one see the condition of you car, if you bring it to the shop and ask them, they would say it need to replace every things. So, just replace the part that not pass the inspection or you want to up grade

@Thang Nguyen: Your point is well taken. Thank you.

I'm afraid I wasn't clear in my original post.

Since I am having the struts and shocks upgraded (Biltein B12 Pro Kit), I was looking for a list of suspension related parts that one should consider refreshing or potentially upgrading. Of course, I want to get as much done while the car is hoisted to minimize my expenses.

I figured if I could hand my mechanic the parts and a worksheet, it's a no brainier for him. So that's what I did.

I also printed out some of the detailed how-tos/workarounds from this forum - such as the front strut replacement how to - to reduce his time spent ($$$) and to ensure the quality of work.

I did some research around the forums and Internet and managed to get what I was looking for.

I will post what I did as a 'best practice guide' to upgrading your suspension. Then the forum can decide if it is useful.

Thank you!!!
