Fuel door latch strike

Which direction do I turn the fuel door latch strike?

I tried both directions and it only move 30 deg clockwise.

i figured it out from a spare fuel fill door assembly. it definitely unlocks clockwise. the haynes manual said to turn anticlockwise... now i need to buy a new striker...

after an hour trying to take out the strike its completely chewed up and knackered. its still stuck.

whats the best tool to rotate the damn collar?

I managed to replace the fuel fill door and the release cable. The original release cable was seized solid.
