Let's see your Jaguar Xj6 Motor Pics!
Damn, another good one! Got to love those smooth cam covers! What did you have to change to put them on? Rear rubber plugs?
I have the side with the oil cap but still need the other side. For my future unlumped '75 XJ6c.

Jan,
How bad a job is this? Are there many and are there dedicated forums or websites for this. And are the two cam covers seperate underneath that trim panel down the center?
Bill
Well, I can see the cam cover is a single piece unit now. I want to see one without the trim panel...

They are a straight swap but yes you need two of the rubber bungs, i picked them up for $70 because i like the look even if they are noisier and more leak prone[they are gasket and ultra blued on and dont leak yet]
These are very nice installations. Mine is not the most elegant, but, is far from the worst I've seen.
Adventures with my toys including the cameras. I got one to download recnt and ancient ones via this machine. Given me by son and as USAF surplus, touted to be very fast...
So, here we go, I hope!!!

Steve;
I "think" it is the ignition. During my cranking travails,
I built a new one with a connector in lieu of individual wires
on the relay posts. As everything now works, I dasn't cut it out.
There are about three "loose" but connected wires that
might also be redundant. same reason, same conclusion!!
Ugh, the labels fell off Fan 1 and fan 2!! I'll make new ones.
The finned alloy of the ECU was just too nice to hide!!
So, I used it to hide the spot formerly occupied
by the big plastic triangular shaped resonance chamber!!

Well......... here's mine. It currently has a 350 trans, but I recently scavenged a Camaro and grabbed everything to convert it over to a stick 5 spd. Regrettably, my budget doesn't allow a 6spd, but 5 gears are better than 3. I don't call myself a mechanic... so challenges ahead !

Nice looking engine
Series 1 came in 2.8 or 4.2. Has it been replaced with an older engine or a typo? Doesn't look like the older engine though.

I think wanting a standard trans (stick shift) is a generational thing. I'm 68, grew up driving stick shift , and do love having control over the gears. I would enjoy hearing more opinions, but don't want to hi-jack this thread. I think I'll start a new thread and wait to hear from all of you.
