Is there any kind of 'shock' to SC during lift-off or rapid high revs (e.g. as a consequence of rev matching downshifts in the power band)?

Well, the vote is pretty conclusive so we will be proceeding with steel. I also like the security of the metal and the slighly larger mass will aid in dampening vibrations. Our pulleys will also be better balanced than the OEM parts.

The product is live on our website, we will be running a launch special at 25% discount, use coupon code JAGCPLAUNCH at checkout.

Anticipate shipping orders by the end of the month.

Hi Stu, if we have your tune for the upper pulley and 200 cell cats will we need to retune for the lower pulley?
Also what do you expect to gain from a car that has my state of tune at the mo.

No no... my point was when replacing the lower supercharger pulley; aren't we leaving the OEM harmonic balancer/rubber isolating donuts/whatever you want to call the thing balancing the pulley in place? I thought that was the case, thus we wouldn't have to worry about out of balance damage.

Yes you will, no charge from us.

Yours is a V8, yes? I think it should be pushing 650 BHP.

There are two belts, one accessory and another just for the supercharger. So you are right that there are two concentric pulleys bolted together. I'm pretty sure both of the pulleys have independent rubber isolating rings, in other words each one has its own isolating rubber ring. I suppose that means the supercharger was double damped but I also don't think it's an issue, especially if the pulley is balanced very well.

Can anyone shed some light on to what is different on the SVR?

+1. This is all correct except that the SC is not double damped. The SC pulley is bolted to the undampened portion of the harmonic balancer.

Actually yes, that makes better sense.

Did anybody follow through and get this ? I know I missed the coupon deal :-(

If you already had the VAP tune and a V6, any comment on the change ?

I got the stainless pulley for my V6. I have not unwrapped my car yet this year; therefore, I have not installed it. I plan to in a couple of weeks. I plan also to post the results, both measured and psychological. I have to admit the anticipation is a bit debilitating in regards to my focus on other mundane, albeit normal daily activities. Apparently my wife has noticed as well and informed me so, although I don't recall the conversation.

I have been thinking of purchasing a crank pulley for my V8R and I just want to know what is the difference between the Eurotoys Crank Pulley and the VAP Crank Pulley. There is a $295.00 difference here.

316 Stainless, versus Aluminum. The Eurotoys product is a good one too.

Thanks (other) Stuart, now I just need to wait for the next sale I guess so I can keep the tune and pulley in the same family - unless of course you would also provide an updated tune for someone elses lower pulley upgrade...

Attempting lower pulley install today. Now that ccb project is complete I needed another reason to get the car up off the ground. Received VAP tuner and pulley last week. Loaded tune over lunch at home and drove car to office. Easy load about five minutes and bam, throttle response opens right up. Must say VAP team easiest, most painless upgrade so far. First quality product and instant phone support.

Default Pulley weight.

If anyone has a VAP crank pulley in hand, would you please post the weight?
