Default S Type, XJ, XK, F Type Rear Lower Control Arm Bushings

I recently went through control arm bushing replacement on my 03 STR. It was a pain to find part numbers, information, and parts. The "Definitive Wishbone Thread" is actually not that definitive if you read through it.

Here are my findings.
Fitment comes from the ZF website, they are the OEM manufacturer and supplier to automanufacturers. These bushings should fit ANY Jaguar S Type (3.0, 4.2, STR, doesn't matter), XF, XJ, F Type, and earlier Lincoln LS's. I believe they should fit any LS, but ZF's website does not have that information. I did measure a bushing on an 03 junk yard LS to confirm.
Earlier cars using this bushing (pre 04 I believe) used a slightly longer version (59 mm) at the wheel hub, so newer version (54mm) can be used with spacers.

These are a simple press in and out item. I made a simple tool using one of the old bushings to press the new ones in, see photo below. As you can see from the corrosion inside, these get pretty nasty inside. To press the new ones in without destroying the boot, I removed the outer snap ring and ONLY the outer snap ring. This allows the boot to slide up off the end of the center part and creates more room to fit a tool around it to press it in.

Here are my ZF references for fitment claims. Note: the part number for the control arm of ALL S types is the same, and the same as the LS.

Great information. Can you share where you sourced the individual bushings? They are supposedly hydraulic filled variety.

I bought mine off ebay(bushesrus). I have an extra 8 if anyone is interested in buying a set. I ordered a lot because I have 2 STR's and wanted extras.

Hydraulic is kind of a misnomer, these are spherical ***** fitted into a plastic sleeve and packed with grease. They are somewhat like ball joints with a hole through the center for a bolt.

Theyre the same. I just swapped xf rear lower control arms and the bigger stiffer rear toe links in my 04 xj. I have the early vin split xj so you have to put a 1mm washer in between the narrower bushing and hub carrier

OP can you PM me about the rear bushings for sale?
Were there any heads up on the procedure? How long did it take? What other components did you had to take off?

The procedure (on my STR) was straight forward:
Remove wheel
Remove the sway bar link retaining nut and shock bolt.
Remove the three bolts holding the arm in.

I think it took me 20 minutes to remove the first and 10 to remove the second.

Installing the bushings was a bit tricky: I think a press is required to get them to go in straight.
