...as you know, they've had my car for a longer period of time than I would have liked. In their supposed defence, they were checking out the lack of light from the LED bars on the panic handle and above the speakers. I hadn't noticed it until coming across a post by WhiteTardis. After taking sensible isolation steps, they confirmed the light bars work but there is zero output to drive them from the Central Junction Box. They aren't sure if that's because the CJB is at fault or there is something in the software not turning it on. So they opened up a case with dealer support.
Meantime I said I would like the car back rather than wait for parts etc from the UK and having ticked the "no wash me" box, decided a clean up was in order.
I discovered one of the stainless steel overlays on the gas pedal has gone AWOL and I appear to have profited by four extra screws in the cupholder...
I can't find the insert anywhere under the seat or in the glovebox or any other pocket so I assume someone has it on their bench.
And I splashed out on the map upgrade USB stick - what a mad procedure taking 3 hours according to the instructions which you should in theory leave the engine running the whole time ? I hooked the car up to my battery tender when I reflash it but found that the car shuts down anyway after ten minutes so this is going to take a while. Hardly seems an advance on the days where you just swapped over the DVD and boom done...
I did the USB map update while driving to work. Happily, it will resume if stopped, as my commute is 45 min. Don't recall if it took more than one round trip.
