I have a 2017 SVR which has the new infrared shielded windshield. My Passport radar detector will not work through the glass...

I looked into the K40, and I hear they are great. Anyone have experience with it? It's expensive so is it worth it?

 

Very slick install and I thoroughly enjoy having it. Found the sensitivity very good. Also, like having a laser jammer built in. Customer service is terrific.

 

Does it have a grill mount?

 

Yes, front and rear.

 

It is certainly not the best solution for you. IMO not even the good one. Got to the vortexradar.com and read the reviews for all the remote installed solutions currently on the market.

Vortex is unbiased observer and he is greatly respected in CM community. That is what he wrote about K40 jammers

K40 G5 Pros
Can integrate with K40’s (low performing and relatively overpriced) radar detectors.
Jams older guns only.
Has a wireless remote control so you don’t have to install a controller in your cabin.
Great customer service.
K40 G5 Cons
Very large heads that use many older LED’s instead of a newer laser diode so it’s older tech and harder to hide.
Not effective against the newest anti-jamming guns on the market.
Their automatic jammer kill option is 10 seconds long which is far too long and that’s not adjustable.
