Can CAI trigger the check engine light ?
If the freer flow from the CAI has reduced the vacuum in the intake tube below the mapped parameters there's not much the service manager can do for you anyway. You will need to have a tuner build out that map.
I originally brought the car to the dealer to have the CAI installed. Labor rate is $155.00 hr.
The way i see it, if the MAF connection became loose somehow, it should be reconnected at no charge. If it something different, the car warrenty should cover the issue.
Am i wrong with my thinking ?

mikey mikey mikey, Jaguar corp is not in the service bay working on the car...
a dual mafs system can be very sensitive to air flow imbalances from one side to another. Why jaguar used MATCHED pair air filters with same batch, date of manufacture. I have seen a cracked case ahead of the filter and mafs cause a fault for air flow. But please all this is nothing more than speculation UNTIL codes are read...

Hi guys,
since my last post on this matter, i had the chance to go to the dealer today. I'm here now and they determined that the O2 sensor is at fault. The check engine light is triggered for this reason, not due to the CAI setup. They are working on my car right now.

Glad you got it sorted out.
My own experience with Jaguar has been really good around warranty work and I know of at least one guy that blew his engine by over revving on decel and 'corporate' ok'd the engine replacement after reviewing the data. Master mechanic told me the data showed clearly the owner over revved the engine on more than one occasion on decel and he threw a rod. I saw the block and it had a large hole in it. Jaguar stepped up anyway.. he was likely a repeat customer.
I've had good experience as well.. of course everyone takes a chance with mod's if they are directly to blame for a fault.
I attempt to stay with the same dealer, including service (4th Jaguar now) as they really do appreciate the business and it shows.
Lawrence.
