My XF 2010 climate control has a mind of its own and has done for 18 months, but I've decided i cant put up with it anymore.

Everything works, A/C. hater. all the flaps open, its just they work when they feel like it and not when i want them too. So I am assuming its the control module that is kaput.

I thought it was going to be a very costly item, but it turns out not as expensive as i thought, so am going to take the plunge and replace it (unless someone has any other idea what might be wrong).

But where the hell is it situated? can someone please advise? many thanks.

 

Climate module is under the drivers seat.

I think that's the seat heating / cooling control module, according to page 1727 of my copy of the 2010-2011 XFR Workshop Manual the climate control module is buried way up under the dash behind the instrument panel console, and you have to pretty much rip out the entire interior to get to it.
The diagram on page 1727 is extremely unhelpful, yeah it shows the module as a rectangular box held in place by three screws and two plugs, but exactly where it is is anyone's guess!

I believe the module is located at the passenger side far right, it should be to the right of the cabin filter and inlet air to the cabin filter housing area.
