Thanks to you & members for the advice, I'm learning how to use Jag Forums (X308). Removed the MAF & cleaned, cleaned throttle body, improved performance of engine.

Question: Searched X308 for info, the plastic housing from MAF to Throttle Body had oil inside, cleaned out oil. Is this normal and the breather line on valve cover to this housing, does this use a filter? Again thanks for the X308 page.

Not trying to take over this thread, but what is the voltage at the sensor supposed to be? Typical voltage's are 5, & 12. at the sensor, seems i saw somewhere 3, & 10 were the voltages on ours.

Discovered problem, 02 Circuit High Voltage Signal Bank 1, Sensor 1 (this is the upstream sensor) Check this.. I think this is passenger side. Please research this information before assuming it's correct

Hi jcvegasdog,

I have moved your thread from the forum for the X350 to the forum for the X308, which is the Jaguar factory project code for your 1998 XJ8.

It's important to post the exact diagnostic fault codes (DTCs) you have scanned so we can be of the most assistance.

Two documents that will be helpful in your diagnosis are the DTC Summaries Guide and the Electrical Guide. You can download them at these links:

Jaguar X308 DTC Summaries Guide 1998

Jaguar X308 Electrical Guide 1998

To answer your latest question, Bank 1 or Bank A is the right bank of cylinders as viewed from the driver's seat, or the left bank when viewed from the front of the engine:

Cheers,

Don
