Have had my Jag XJR for about 4 months now, and can't get over the style and overall look. Hoping to keep it for a while. It's definitely a keeper.

Well, yes, after all my 2001 Vanden Plas is really a Daimler (as per the fluted radiator grill and trunk bar) but designated as a Jaguar due to lack of US Daimler licensing. If the car was in the UK it would be a Daimler......and no leaping cat ornament. I guess what I'm saying is, Jaguar put the leaping cat on a Daimler, so why couldn't/shouldn't someone in Europe do the same.

Not going to shoot on technicalities, and feel free to do whatever makes you happy, but ....

Daimler was always marketed as an independent brand.
It never had a leaper, as (marketing wise), it wasn't a Jaguar.

The Vanden Plas however was marketed as the top level of a Jaguar, and has a Jaguar badge on the trunk.

The discussion if it should have a leaper on the hood, well, I will leave for an other day .

Sure, Daimler never had a leaper, but Jaguar never had a Vanden Plas, it was a Daimler. (except in the US due to licensing issues). So if Jaguar can mix flutes and Vanden Plas badges, (here in the US) can't we/they put a leaper on a Daimler in Europe

There's lots of threads to search on trans fixes, be sure to check the link in my sig for some of those.

Great photo. Have had my 1999 XJ - 8 for 15 years and admire the car every time I walk up to it.

Rostman, get some larger diameter throttle bodies, what is the ECU? 6CU? Should be marked.

So they do come with the rubber/abs trim like below ?!

If so I'll give them ago from this vendor.

They come with the rubber surrounds, but not rubber tabs, the tabs are small extensions of the wire mesh, which works just fine. I'm thinking the mesh may also be a little finer than your pictures, but difficult to tell from pictures.

No that was just a random example pic, didn't you use the same E-Bay vendor I linked if not link your vendor, thanks.

Did you purchase these ?
