Default Possible to recover steering volume control rocker?

The part for the entire unit is c2z4249 which can run 150 dollars easily.

The rubber crosshatching on my volume control rocker is getting worn down and a little slick. I was wondering if there was a way to just replace the rocker with new instead of the entire unit.
Any help would be appreciated.
Pic so that you know what I am talking about:
